Mustard Navy is the UK’s first product design agency focused on AI products. We help innovators turn vision and technology into products customers embrace and remember. Our clients range from healthtech pioneers to global sustainability ventures, and our work spans vision prototyping, zero-to-MVP builds, and turning around underperforming products.

We’re excited to invite you to apply for this pivotal role in our design practice. We’re looking for a skilled Senior Product Designer to join our growing team on this journey, someone who is ready to tackle fantastic AI-driven challenges, but also wants to look up from the screen and help shape who we are. You’ll be right there with us, defining our culture, growing our agency, and pushing the boundaries of what design innovation really looks like.

About You

You’re perfect for this role if you're passionate about delivering innovative products and excited about building and shaping a business together in the AI space.

You likely:

  • Have rich and proven experience crafting digital products
  • Possess strong critical thinking, easily zooming in and out of problems.
  • Enjoy connecting research to insight, and insight into design solutions.
  • Understand foundational design principles for AI and data-rich products.
  • Are a confident communicator, with a natural ability to articulate design decisions.
  • Thrive in ambiguity, adept at finding paths forward independently.
  • Naturally gravitate towards impact driven outcomes.
  • Constantly seek new knowledge, expanding your skillset and keeping pace with technology, particularly with AI and Vibe Coding practices.
  • Desire to play an active role in growing the business, not just project delivery.

Your background might combine experiences from startups, agencies, consultancies, or product teams, totalling around 5+ years. However, mindset and skills matter more than rigid criteria. You must be legally allowed to live and work in the UK.

What you'll do

This is a dynamic, hands-on role typical of a fast-growing startup agency. Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Hold day-to-day responsibility of product design projects.
  • Conduct research and analysis to understand client context and requirements.
  • Develop wireframes to test a broad variety of concepts.
  • Craft creative, visually stunning interfaces and interactive prototypes.
  • Conduct actionable user research and validate concepts.
  • Build and evolve design systems that help our clients to scale their products.
  • Drive innovation while balancing client constraints.
  • Contribute broadly to agency growth and internal initiatives.

Critically, you'll:

  • Work closely with members of the Mustard Navy team to solve complex client challenges and craft world-leading design solutions.
  • Stay at the forefront of new technologies, experimenting and researching to help evolve our ways of working.
  • Form a core part of our growing team, embracing the culture and collaborating closely to help drive our product design passion.
  • Confidently present your work, and have past experience working in a client facing role.

Why do we call it “AI” Product Designer?

The term “AI” works a double-shift:

  • First is what we work on: We help our clients solve product challenges that take advantage of AI or Machine Learning in one way or another. These are the AI Products we work on.
  • Second is how we work: We continuously iterate on how we might best use AI to do our work. We codify and share these practices to become ever more effective and creative.

Joining us means being encouraged to play in both of these areas.

Why us?

Beyond the work with clients at the forefront of tech developments, you’ll benefit from

  • £60-70 base salary
  • Learning and development budget
  • Flexible working
  • Work directly with industry veterans
